Wisdom Teeth

Wisdom teeth are molar teeth that are the farthest from the front of your mouth. Most adults have 4 wisdom teeth, one in each quadrant of the mouth (upper left/right, lower left/right). They usually grow between ages of 17 and 25. Wisdom teeth affect the teeth adjacent to them and can cause shifting of teeth and pain. They turn sideways or become impacted into the jaw bone and develop irregularly. Impacted wisdom teeth may lead to serious infection. Not everyone may need to have their wisdom teeth them extracted, they are extracted to help an actual problem or to prevent problems that may come up in the future. To determine if an extraction is the right choice for your situation, an exam is performed that typically includes an X-ray
